Let me put it this way. Richard is a hack. A disgrace to atheists everywhere.
His "good points" only stand because he knows exactly who to interview in his films so that the end result supports his point of view. He openly dismisses theologists because he thinks it's a pseudoscience, and instead picks the worst kind of extremists to illustrate how he's right about religion.
He's views on religion and it's role in society is immature and lacks any serious backing, while his arguments against the existence of God are at best narrow minded, at worst, outright unscientific (though if not, you can blame this impression on one of his psychotic fanboys).
He claims religion and science are mutually exclusive which is pure bullshit, seeing how the greatest scientists of the middle ages were also catholic monks, and very firm believers, Including
He also took what is supposed to be a simple lack of faith, and turned into his personal religious cult with himself as the messiah, and the core doctrine that religion is the root of all evil, which nobody has the right to question without incurring the wrath of his worshipers, despite atheism being supposedly about questioning everything.
